My Son Started Talking To Me!
I love my teenaged son, and I know he loves me, but for the last few years, we have not been talking like we used to. A friend of mine bought me the book "Greatness in our Teenagers", and so I read it and then I gave it to my son in the hope that it would help re-enforce his spiritual foundation.
He first started coming to me to ask for my opinion on a few things in the book. I was so happy about this, that I wasn't going to let this opportunity pass. So I started going up to him and asking his opinion on a few things.
He responded, and since then, we have been getting into all kinds of interesting conversations about lots of different topics. I even asked him to go camping with me a few weeks ago, and to my surprise, he went. It's hard to believe this middle-aged man could pull him away from his buddies for a weekend, but we had a great time. He even said he wants to go away for another weekend before the summer is over!
I love my boy, and I'm so glad we have 'connected' again!!! |
