About The AuthorsBlessed by two wonderful parents, who were famous in the community for their altruism and good nature, Peter Tassi and Filomena Tassi are siblings with a profound spiritual faith and desire to help others. Collaborating on Greatness in our Teenagers re-inforced an already strong kinship. More importantly however, for the creation of the book, working together produced a synergy and challenge to each other to write the most powerful guide possible for helping parents and educators with their adolescents. For many years, Peter, as the older brother, was the source of wisdom and guidance for Filomena. In more recent years however, Peter has come to recognize the great maturity and sapience in his younger sister, and is the first to praise her knowledge, strength and warm heart. In this, their second collaborative work (the first being 500 Prayers), their brilliance, experience and insight has been magnified to produce one of the most powerful, spiritual and enlightening guides for bringing out the greatness in our youth. When asked, "What defines you most as brother and sister," Peter replies, "It is when I am in the most vulnerable or traumatic situations that I am most grateful to have Filomena as my sister. We share a deep sibling connection, and a fundamental spiritual kinship. So I would say that what defines us most as brother and sister, is knowing that we are always there for each other—no matter what." | ||||||||||
Peter Tassi Peter is a man with many ‘hats’. Writing, movie production and missionary work have been his passions in recent years, but the well-being and development of children and teenagers have always been driving forces in his life.
Before beginning his career as a writer, Peter spent many years in the music business producing and releasing top-ten songs and albums, as well as music videos, Peter began to move into writing. His writings are varied and include many genres. He would return home from work as chaplain and, after his children were in bed, he would use the solace of late night hours to create his new 'world' with the use of pen and paper.Peter has had several books published, including The Beauty Within and Arousing the Soul, and has written several fiction books, including the soon-to-be-released Spoiled Ground (2010 Publish Date) and Hamilton Heroes (October 2009 Publish Date). Peter has also been challenged to write feature films, and has written many screenplays, including "3 days" movie, which is now available for viewing on My Series TV. He also co-wrote, with John Cope, the musical theatrical play, "The Centurion," which is also available for viewing on My Series TV, and which is the story of the life of St. Paul. Peter has written and co-written several additional screenplays, which have been ‘Optioned’, and will hopefully be produced in the near future. Humanitarian and Missionary:Peter has travelled to Haiti, Africa, Dominican Republic and Mexico to work with the missionaries for the Poor. Upon returning, thanks to the generosity of many people, churches and service groups, his community of volunteers raised substantial amounts of money for the missions. The ongoing process of this fund raising is accomplished through many ventures, including the use of documentaries written and produced by Peter. While his committee has sent over $800,000 in this endeavour, it is a humble amount for what has to be done to conquer poverty. It is Peter's great hope that, through writing books, screenplays and theatrical plays, he is able to better serve our brothers and sisters in the Third World. Much of his fee and royalties are donated to the Third World missions. Peter considers myself to have been blessed throughout his life with a wonderful family, great and true friends, three beautiful children and a career that has been varied and enriching.
